Drug Abuse: Conclusion

Our nation and it's youth are struggling with drug abuse more than ever. The readily availability of drugs and that too with low cost, sometimes lower than alcohol, is the main culprit behind this epidemic.

As more and more youth are facing challenges in their life be it be education related coaching that forces them to study for more than ten hours in a day, etc. The youth is turning to drugs as a source of escapism while having a wrong judgment that drug is not harmful it is wonderful, they think it is cool and criticize those who avoid taking it or try to reason with them. This growing mindset of the youth that drug is basically a good way to deal with stress is alarming and a threat to our nation's future.

To secure our nation's future it is vital that necessary steps are taken to spread awareness of the harmful effects of drug abuse with seminars conducted across the educational institutes for children and youth. The youth can not be taught forcefully, they need to understand the adverse effects of drugs and for that there's a need to understand why a child or youth takes drugs and to do that we need to connect with them and understand their problem, by not judging them but by listening to them, by understanding them not attacking them we can solve this crisis because all addictions require therapeutic sessions with the patient that allows them to heal mentally which is the fundamental process in managing this crisis.


When we understand and connect with the addicts we heal them and through this healing process we can all together remove this crisis and to do that it is crucial that we establish various rehabilitation centers in heavy numbers across the nation. We need to urge people close to the addicts such as their parents and friends to talk with them and help them understand that these centers are not for the weak but for those in need and to do that we must also spread awareness about mental health as in our country people are still not taking mental health conditions seriously, there's a misunderstanding among people that mental illness passes away on its own so we need to counter this and spread awareness regarding mental health and the need of rehabilitation centers.

Drug abuse is a very serious and growing threat to humanity, people who are addicted to drugs will not understand the adverse effects it has on them and will be in complete denial that's why we need to deal with them with sympathy. We need to eradicate the supply chain of these drugs through serious investigations with the help of local,central police and intelligence bureau. Finally, rather than imposing jail time on drug users we need to assign them to rehab centers and therapy sessions.

With the help of rehab and drug control we can deal with this growing epidemic even though it will take some time and will not be easy but we all need to understand that this is a very necessary step towards securing our future as well as improving the health of children and youth who are suffering from it .
